10-Trophy pack Drop Rates Explained

One of the strategies we suggest for newer players or players unwilling to spend time sniping elites is to buy a lot of gold and silver players for cheap and making them into 10-trophy packs. However, many players are discouraged from the strategy when they find that drop-rates are too low for a profit when trying a few times. Well, this can be true, but in larger volumes you'll start evening out the ratios of trophies. Based on a large volume of packs, we've evaluated what the chances for each trophy is for 10-trophy packs:

Lets look at an example of this. If we use the 10-pack distribution as seen above and take some arbitrary trophy prices on the Auction house.

Trophy
Occurrence in 10-trophy pack
Trophy Price
Total value (-10%)
Bronze
4.2
500
1,890
Silver
3.2
1,500
4,320
Gold
1.9
3,500
5,985
Elite
0.7
8,000
5,040
Total
17,235

Based on this, we can expect that paying under 1,700 coins for gold players will guarantee a very small profit.

Many people disagree with the numbers we've used in this calculation. The trophy prices are subject to fluctuating markeds and difference in peoples patience. However, this should be used as a tool for everyone who wants to predict profitability on the sets. Research how much you have to pay for gold players, how much profit you want and see if you're satisfied by the results.

It should also be noted that 6 and 2-trophy packs are not subject to the same distribution.
