So you're looking for the next big gold rush? Be aware of the upcoming promotions! As I always say, marked anticipation is key to making the big bucks. You've hopefully spent TOTY and Super Bowl making a few coins, and if you followed our advice, might have made a lot. But that's in the past and now we're looking forward to February.
So, how do you prepare yourself? Two words: Cheap Elites. Why? Because of Position Heroes.
We can expect Position Heroes (PH) to require elites and golds to finish the sets, just like last year.
Since the latest marked crash during TOTY, the marked has slowly started to recover but elites are still silly cheap. Sniping elites for 10k-15k is very possible currently and you should definitely stock up on as many as possible. What's the return on elites? Well, it's difficult to say, but you should expect about 50%-100%. Elites are expected to skyrocket in price as soon as the promotion is released. If you're sitting on gold players, you should definitely keep those too.
How risky is this? Very low risk. It would be a major surprise if Position Hero sets don't require elites (almost unimaginable) and their price will spike.
What do i do about Super Bowl? Well, the Super Bowl promotion is still a big unknown since we don't know which legends we'll be getting. We do predict that both Peyton Manning and Cam Newton will get highly rated boost cards at the end of the promotion and that Drew Brees will decrease significantly when that happens. If you're sitting on a Super Bowl legend Brees, get rid of him now while you can get a good price.
The Jerry Rice sets looks increasingly ridiculous, but he's a free card. Don't expect any good price on the auction house for him, as he'll be completely over-saturated on the marked (sub-30k). Instead, the Trial Players surprisingly stayed elite despite decreasing to low-70s ratings, so you'll be able to use them in sets or keep them for Position Heroes. You'll get much more value from your trial players if you keep them sitting on the bench for now.
What should you avoid? Do not overextend yourself trying to get the lastest Super Bowl Legends. While gunning for the required pieces in the sets, you'll start overpaying for individual cards and eventually might take a loss when it comes to selling the legend again. Sometimes, you might hit a homerun, but you're more likely to take a nosedive. Be patient and monitor the situation if the set pieces decrease in price.
Also, be sure to grind out the live events. With the Super Bowl master event, you will receive a free elite that might have good value. That might be 40k-100k straight into the pocket.
